We made it to Council Bluffs, Iowa by early evening, riding some 740 miles from home. Ate a late supper which was a mistake so I didn't sleep much. We got an early start this morning, on the road before 6:30. Temperature was 75 degrees and VERY humid. The temp stayed steady until nearly noon, when it quickly warmed to 93 degrees for about an hour. Then we passed a strong cold front, and fought high winds (30 - 35 mph, gusts to 50mph) the rest of the day. The wind was strong from the south all morning, then after passing the front it shifted to the northwest and the temps steadily dropped all day until they were in the low 60's by evening. It's supposed to be 42 here in the morning, but we've got a short day of 343 miles planned for tomorrow so we may sleep in a bit. We rode 717 miles today fighting wind, so it has taken its toll on us and we're ready to slow down.
